Information on xtheball

0.96 [Aaron Giles]

Bugs:

- When the ball appears, only half of it fades in but the whole ball shows up when it's done fading. Luigi30 (ID 00806)

WIP:

- 0.148u1: Reduced tag lookups in X the Ball [Phil Bennett].

- 0.124: Aaron Giles fixed video timing in X The Ball. Still don't know why it changed recently, but the new parameters reproduce the old values. Changed VSync to 60.797665 Hz.

- 0.123u3: Zsolt Vasvari and Mamesick fixed the DAC sound in X The Ball.

- 0.122u6: Changed TMS34010 CPU1 clock speed to 40MHz.

- 0.113u1: Changed visible area to 512x224.

- 0.96: Aaron Giles added X the Ball (Rare 1991).

- 12th April 2005: Dumping Project - A Texas company has a working cabinet for Rare's "X The Ball" soccer-themed redemption game; this is the only copy I've ever seen. It's the last known undumped game by Rare, and is supposedly on "Battletoads" hardware; it shouldn't be too hard to emulate. They are willing to part out the boardset and let us rent and dump it for $400, with $200 to be refunded if we return it in working order. I grant you that this is an awful lot to spend for something we won't own, but the only alternative is to either buy the boardset outright and break up a working cab (which I think is a terrible thing to do with a game this rare) or to buy and ship the whole cab.
