- In Multi Game III you can select 21 games: Super Mario Bros. 3, Super Mario, Tennis, Excitebike, Balloon Fight, Ice Climber, Road Fighter, Pac-Man, Bomber Man, Galaga, Star Force, King Kong, Pooyan, Wonder Boy, Wrestle, Popeye, Circus, Exerion, Mappy, Sky Destroyer and Gorilla 3.


WIP:

- 0.133u2: Fabio Priuli fixed NES bank switching in Multi Game III (broken due to a mistake of mine when including original Rob Bohms' code). The game still refuses to work, unfortunately.

- 0.133u1: Rewrite of NES PPU [Robert Bohms]: Ported ppu2c0x to use a device memory map. Ported all rendering to access PPU address space through memory map. Updated MAME drivers to install read handlers or memory banks in PPU memory map, as appropriate. Removed all mirroring and banking code from the ppu, as the backing memory is documented to be external. Supplied replacement banking alternatives for all MAME drivers (VSNES, PlayChoice-10, Chameleon24 and MultiGame).

- 0.131: Changed gfx1 rom address to $6000 and year to 1992.

- 0.124u1: Mariusz Wojcieszek added Multi Game III (Seo Jin 19??).

- 31st March 2008: Mariusz Wojcieszek - "Multi Game III" - yet another NES based hack, this time with Super Mario Bros 3. Game is playable.

- 2nd January 2008: Tirino73 dumped Multi Game III. This romset comes from a PCB produced by a "company" named Seo Jin. Like other two predecessors,it is a hacked clone of the Nintendo Play-Choice system but hardware based on the Famicom/Nes home console,with games extracted from cartridges.

NOTES:

- ROM at 0x6000-0x7fff contains control program, which handles coins and timer

- Each game rom has NMI (VBLANK) vector changed to 0x6100 (control program). Then, game NMI is called through IRQ vector

- There is additional RAM (0x800-0xfff) used by control program

- ROM banked at 0x5000-0x5ffe seems to contain patches for games. At least Ninja code jumps into this area

- Game roms are banked in 16KB units. Bank switching of game rom is handled by writing to 0x6fff. If bank select has 7th bit turned on, then 32KB rom is switched into $8000 - $ffff. Otherwise, 16KB rom is switched on.

- PPU VROMS are banked in 8KB units. Write to 0x7fff controls PPU VROM banking.

- Some games use additional banking on PPU VROMS. This is enabled by writing value with bit 7 on to 0x7fff and then selecting a vrom by writing into 0x8000 - 0xffff range.

- There is a register at 0x5002. 0xff is written there when game is played, 0x00 otherwise. Its purpose is unknown.


NOTES:

- Hardware is based around Nintendo NES. After coin up, it allows to play one of 35 NES games (choosen from text menu). Manufacturer is unknown, code for title screen and game selection contains string: "Programed by SANG HO ENG. K. B. KIM 1986/1/ 1".

- 0.133u2: More NES work [Robert Bohms]: Fixed bug in nes_apu that caused errors reading $4015. Added length counter status bits to $4015. Fixed 4-screen mirroring (PPU regression). Improved Sprite Overflow emulation of NES PPU (this fixes the first of blargg's Sprite Overflow tests).
